Some of the reviews on KFit go as far as to declare that Samasthah's yoga classes are life changing but THAT IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. Their classes are a yogi's wish upon the seven dragon balls. How have I not heard of this place before, I will never know.
I started the Functional Stretch class on a happy note because I made a new friend when I was stuck outside waiting for class to open. As if that didn't make class lively enough, I bumped into Lixuan right as she plopped herself next to my mat. TALK ABOUT COINCIDENCE!
The instructor was punishing and knowledgeable. He was crazily hands on. Every pose I did, he came and shoved me deeper in. My stretches got deeper and stronger with every push. And his results are seriously instantaneous.
He'd made us try to reach our toes, do a torture stretch, reach our toes again, do another torture stretch, reach our toes again, rinse and repeat.
And holy fucking shit I managed to touch the floor on straight knees for the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE (yes I'm a loser) and it showed because I was like "wow!!!" and kept doing it to double check that I was legit doing it.
God I loved that class. I have to come back.
I took back to back classes. The second was rope yoga, which I was particularly looking forward to.
This class was a lot less strenuous. Nothing is as strenuous as Functional Stretch, trust me. So I did this class with relative ease even though I saw all the other beginners crumbling around me. My only sad face is that I couldn't reach some of the poses LOL.
My instructor was super attentive. He mainly demonstrated on my ropes to the class so that I wouldn't need to reach up to switch knots, re-tie knots, etc since he'd do it. And he gave me blocks when he saw me struggling to reach the floor. SO SWEET THIS MAN.
He even took the video (the above ares stills) for me goddammit I LOVE THIS PLACE.
I used up my sessions but I WILL BE BACK!
I love my new sports bra. I can take on the world in this outfit.
After yoga was visiting the set for the tele-movie Amnig is sponsoring. I met Pierre Png, Joshua Tan and Sandra Tang again and they were much warmer this time. Joshua was particularly affable. No wonder his fan base would run over their own toes for a chance to touch his abs.
My manager was quite fascinated by the behind-the-scenes and the set in general. The creative director was a doll and kept offering to answer our queries on the set, if we had any. I think I was too busy trying to steal a charging slot.
I think what piqued my interest the most was when this guy shouted, "Okay I need ambiance!" and everyone in the set fell silent.
It took a while before I realized he was recording ambiance. The easy rustling of the leaves outside, the slow swirling of the fans, the irregular swinging of the Muay Thai sandbags, and an uninterested cough from my manager's son hahah.
We had a group photo but I probably am not allowed to post till after the entire tele-movie goes on Channel 5 so mum's the word.
Also I am evidently on a cap spree.
Selling this and more on @minicolee at Carousell, gun to your head, check it out!
