Review: Milan Pole Dance Studios

Today I am fucking productive because this was my schedule:

9:20am to 10:20am: 1-on-1 Flexibility Yoga @ Clementi
11am to 12pm: Aerial Fabrics @ Milan Pole Studios
2pm to 3pm: Pole Lyrical @ SLAP Dance Studios

And I did it all!

I thought I would end up giving one of them up but I couldn't. I felt so guilty over not exercising yesterday that I had to use today fully. And my God I did. I haven't felt so accomplished in weeks.

Yoga in the morning was pretty dry to be honest. My body is now in a constant state of disrepair because I haven't allowed it rest for a while (except yesterday) even though I had the strength to push through the moves, I let myself go at 3/4 of my better time.

And besides I had to conserve energy for Milan Pole Studios. Do you know any idea how orgasmic the words "Aerial Fabrics" look on my calendar? I kept consciously thinking okok must save energy to go in the air later.

My yoga ended late because I was late and so I had to run from Outram Park to Milan Pole Studios. And thank God me and Gabriel once had dinner at Bukit Pasoh so I had an idea of where the area was. Gabriel is the answer to all my prayers heh heh.

Anyway, the class was fucking amazing.

The instructor started with a series of yoga-inspired warm-ups, most of which were familiar but not reachable because my bones are disappointing bones. But that's okay because once the flexibility parts ended, it was time for strength (to mount the fabrics)

And oh I had strength.

I had plenty of strength.

Goddamn I love the cocoon pose.

But in all seriousness, I found a lot of strength to use in this class. This isn't an advanced class, but it was somewhere into their basic term already. But still, I could catch up to all the moves easily. I can hold long, I can get into position fast, and I can grip strong. I've never been prouder of this body.

I think I do have a knack for aerial fabrics. The first inversion was easily for me because of the joint knowledge I have from SLAP's pole tricks class and Samastha's rope yoga class so I mounted easily, so much so that my instructor kindly went, "Nice! You've done inversion before?"

And then again, when I got into a hands-free pose quickly without trouble while the class was still picking it up, she commented, "That's very nice. Good job Nicole!" and I very shyly thanked her.

I live for this, I do hahaha.

I also think I'm good at getting into poses but not necessarily in the correct sequence. The end product will look the same, but the sequence not as much. But anyway that's my own bad. I have nothing but good things to say for my review of Milan Pole Dance Studios.

Looking forward to aerial hoops next week!

Pole lyrical was my contemporary trial back from the dead.

But thank God for the circle-drawing obsession my contemporary drilled into me, even though that trial only lasted an hour. It helped me remember my moves better in lyrical pole. How fitting that the dance I make fun of the most ended up aiding me in pole.

Such is my askew life.
