I did it a while ago but gave it up because wellll I had no trainer and it's tough persisting when no one's pushing you. But the honest, bigger reason is because it's terrifying tough and causes aches that goes on for days so I tried to avoid it.
But with the inception of KFit in my life, I thought I'd give it a go again.
By the way, I am not an ambassador of KFit. I wish I was. YOU KFIT COMMITTEE DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE MISSING OUT! Look at my detailed day by day review oh my god I will be the best ambassador ever.
That aside, I decided to stop being a lazy piece of shit and start using the obscenely early morning hours I wake up at (sleepless in Singapore 4eva) and booked myself an 8am HIIT session at the brightest gym I know, R-evolution.
I was early so I had time to do uncoordinated stretching.
My coach came and my God is he an interesting man. He was the 1999 world record holder for this speed skating stint and now spends his time coaching lateral training professionally and chasing marathoners on skates across Singaproe leisurely. How about that!
We chatted for a bit and he was only very slightly impressed when I told him I did pole dancing. Which was probably a mistake because subsequently, he expected strength from me, especially in my upper body and legs, AND I DELIVERED!
So happy heh heh. I love being pushed to my limits. And at one point, he really bought out a resistance band and started whipping it on the ground. My God that got me so rushed, I pushed out the reminder reps with the rest of my soul.
I am particularly happy with my jump-up pull-up form. Will get a photo from my next session!
All in all, I am freaking satisfied with R-evolution's HIIT classes. My only word of caution is that you need shoes with grips because me and the rest of my training mates kept slipping. Small issue, considering I LOVE THE REST OF THE SET TO BITS.
I can't wait to be back already!
Afternoon was pole and my performance was disappointing.
It is ironic, because everything I do, I do it to for pole performance. I took up pole to increase flexibility and gain better form in pole. I took up everything else, all in all, to strengthen my body and give myself more lifting power in pole.
Instead, in my pursuit of pole betterment, I have actually neglected the most crucial exercise of all - actual pole practice.
The lesson didn't go to waste because at least it bought me to that realization that I need to be back with my pole and not be this distracted by the other things I commit to. It did feel like a waste though because the whole time I was just rushing, putting out my own fires lol.
Pole ended and I went to find my sick baby :(
He was having a bad day from the cold and I kept trying to hug him and ask for his attention. We had the most loving moments in a long time, ending in him lifting me up in the kitchen and carrying me to the room tenderly.
He fell asleep and I set my phone to the alarm time he requested. When it ran off, he violently jolted awake. He reached over me to shut it off, turned back to look at me with the most peaceful smile and finally proceeded to hug me to death. God I love this man.
I tidied up his room and put his pants in the laundry basket. He had things in his pockets that he didn't empty out and tried to chide me about not flipping them. I pouted saying I did my duty and he patronizingly said, "What if I had my wallet still in there? Or an engagement ring?" hehe.
I love this man dear God I do,
