Day 1: 5 Days in Bangkok for SGD$400

Date: 18 June 2015

Second flight out with my darling man!

I don't think I'll ever get sick of traveling with him. This is the third time I've been away with him to a foreign land and each time, he surprises me with how much more amazing he can be. I am the luckiest chick in the world.

Dad offered grudgingly to send me to the airport!

Holy shit the front seat lighting is fantastic.

I'm usually not this good looking.

We picked up Gabriel too, who proceeded to bear through the silent ride with me and my dad. I think my dad is the traditional Asian father, but upgraded. Eat rice and ignore daughter all day. As Asian dad as it gets!

The flight was departing Singapore at 1.25pm and we reached with plenty of time to spare.

Gabriel started to fidget with the sjcam and started to take videos of me. I think he made it shaky to add an exciting touch to the video. It was really just us having overpriced drinks. NOTHING EXCITING AT ALL!

But so adorable of him anyway heh, can't wait to love him forever.

He smoked his last stick and we boarded the plane!

My mighty sexy sailor.

He dozed off very quickly after taking off. I can never understand how he does that. I tried to sleep too, in case I repeated my Gold Coast incident. But there was a mini turbulence and I jerked the fuck awake and stayed awake :(

As you can tell I'm a very touchy girlfriend.

Touched down two hours later! Scoot never fails to impress with their captain's urgency to land. Anyway, as usual, I went to my trusty sim card provider. It is a quick turn left from the arrivals hall, towards the snaking taxi stand.

Our turn came in a bit and we were off to Baiyoke Suite Hotel!

Baby obliged me for photos, taken mainly because of my hair.

He spent bulk of the trip familiarizing himself with Bangkok traffic.

I wasn't sure if he wanted to rent a bike. We did very basic research while we were in Singapore, but nothing was certain because we couldn't find any directions in English. And besides, there was no guarantee he could get used to the streets.

We reached our hotel!

So adorable my starring man.

Dropped off our stuff and got ready to head down to the first bike rental place. It was north of Sukhumvit and inaccessible to a fault, but he seemed so eager to ride again that we headed down without further thought!

It was drizzling out but we took a tuk tuk because he hadn't been on one!

Rammed straight into his nose heh sorry baby.

Oh god coconut ice cream I have missed you sob.

Reached the area and an exhaustive search later, realized the place rented out everything already. Gabriel called the main owner of the place, who tried to direct us to his fellow bike rental friend, but I insisted on trying Bangkok Bikes Rental.

And it worked out!

The place is quite hard to reach. Me and Gabriel each sat on the back of the scooter and took off. His rider knew where to go, but my rider didn't hear our exchange and didn't understand English, so we were cluelessly lost for a while.

She was lost and pissed and started to deliberately speed and cross pavements even when she didn't have to. She cut lanes, beat lights, and gave me the shittest ride of my life. I almost threw up. But at least she rode past cows. I got to see cows. Yes that is my highlight of the night.

So when we reached Rama XI, I was grouchy all the way till we reached Bangkok Bikes Rental Co.  where the English-speaking owner personally came out to chat with us and sign the rental forms.

I think he came then fused into one with the bike once he touched it.

He must've missed riding more than breathing.

Doesn't he look like the most fuckable man in the world?

I tried my best to navigate him from Rama XI back to Pratunam but I got him lost for a bit. Sorry baby. In the end we reached Pratunam (success!) and decided to just walk around Pratunam, since we were tired already.

I have been here so often I've memorized the order of the street stalls.

I maxed out on space on Day 5 eventually and the most perfect boyfriend in the world decided to buy me a tough turquoise and light pink luggage from one of the grumpy stalls here. And it is now my happy travel companion!

Me happy with my bear paw ice cream! This was a stone's throw away, wow I can't believe I'm using that outdated descriptor, from Baiyoke's area. I think I'll always stick to this place. Such a familiar and atmospheric area.

We continued walking and there were lights opposite the main road so off we went!

My hair is so red oh god I want to fuck it.

This is somewhere opposite Pratunam. There was rows and rows of street stalls but none of them sells clothes! Mostly bags, accessories and souvenirs. Baby got distracted shortly by a customizable satchel. Me walked around.

My legs are so long here oh god I want to hump them.

By now I've gotten slightly hungry and started to complain to the baby, who hopefully is not regretting his promise to feed me. We started to walk back towards the hotel, where we found a nice little Indian place.

CHICKEN MASALA FOREVER!

The malasa was fucking amazing here. Strange that the Indian food in Bangkok far outperforms the Indian food in Singapore. But anyway, it got too spicy for me and I started to tear and baby happily finished the rest.

If I'm not wrong, the place is called Kebabs & Kurries By Tandoor Indian Restaurant. It is close to Baiyoke Boutique Hotel and way more expensive than I thought.

Had our massage and dragged ourselves back home!

Our hotel room is quite big actually. For about $50 a night, we got one spacious living/ dining room, one balcony, one massive bedroom and one roomy toilet. I think I wouldn't mind if that became our home forever. Less places to sweep.

Fell asleep in the warmest arms in the world.
