The first lesson I attended (last Tuesday) was a full class, so the instructor had fun taking photos of everyone. But today it was quieter with only two repeat students, me and a flexible chick. As such, she gave us more attention than in the first lesson.
Today's lesson was no less punishing than the last. Most instructors have multiple classes and so they stick to a certain routine but NOT THIS ONE! I fucking liked last week's session but this one was slightly switched up. No bar time today, so that's depressing.
I was struggling with all the back exercises because, for the bloody life of me, my knees cannot straighten. Maybe it's a lack of strength, or just my hamstrings being bitches as usual, but my legs just cannot straighten,
But I fared pretty great at the full splits. I was on my hands but the instructor came over and encouragingly went, "Come on, I know you can go on your elbows," and of course my stroked ego made sure I went down hahah.
Class concluded productively and I headed to work.
I almost whispered I miss you to my desk. The smell of my office, the comfort of my chair, the speed of my Mac, everything was so familiar and it served a single purpose: to remind me why I accepted being a consultant editor hahah.
Felt so FUCKING GOOD to be here only after doing what I like (attending class) and leaving whenever I liked (at 3.30pm)! Everyone was still massaging their heads at their desk, willing time to go faster but my ass and I were out of there within 4 hours.
The free(lance) life is a good life.
