For an untrained body, with light activity, I took 5.5 hours to finish a 18km obstacle race.
In this obstacle race, the time taken to wait for our turn at each obstacle course was on average 10 minutes per station, including waiting time and mounting time.
Equalising it, I finished 17 out of 20 stations, skipping on the final 3 because I was running the last 4km alone and did not have the energy to mount them alone.
17 obstacles x 10 minutes = 2 hours 50 minutes
5 hours 30 minutes - 2 hours 50 minutes = 2 hours 40 minutes
Mathematically, I took 2 hours 40 minutes to complete the 18km.
Though personally, if you count all the six times I almost died and float out my body, I'd say the 2 hours and 40 minutes weren't enough. 5 and a half hours sounds about right. But math wise, it checks out that way.
The race was on 30th April.
My body recovered 0% on Day 1 (1st May)
30% on Day 2 (2nd May)
90% on Day 3 (3rd May)
I resumed hot yoga classes today.
My arrogance shines through my face.
Now, not to blow my own horn (when I could be blowing Gabriel's), but I have to say my body is pretty fucking impressive. To recover from an 18km run (without prior training) within 3 days must be a feat.
But to be fair, I also had the greatest advisor.
Gabriel spent much of day zero's night stretching me out after I told him we did not do any warm up or cool downs exercises. He fed me only nutritious food and replenishing drinks. I touched nothing unhealthy. I stretched a lot while I still could.
Day one I was almost 30% paralyzed. I had to go to Gabriel's hotel lunch, managing two upright hours before collapsing onto the hotel's patio table and falling dead asleep. But at least I clocked in an incredible intake of good food and fluids at the buffet before I died.
Day two was me sleeping a lot. I don't remember being awake much. We had a lot of medium-level unhealthy food but still nutritious drinks. Gabriel insisted that my body needed nutrition. He offered his rendition of protein. I politely declined.
Day three and I'm on my feet, no longer dying and ready for all my sports classes!
Although I'm on the verge of sleeping again so goodnight!
