Christmas started out at my grandma's!
I was early to pack my parcels and my aunt excitedly joined in. My grandma went into cooking overdrive and so I had to overeat heh heh. Dozed off a while waiting for the family to reach and then it was lunch round II!
Gabriel and I had a small fight after that and I was super upset but I tried to not let it bother me, and decided to join my family outside playing Big Two. And I couldn't stay angry much longer because my God I had such great hands. I couldn't lose.
So of course my appetite grew as we switched to Blackjack and my dad decided that nothing is exciting until the first bet is in, so we played in denominations of 20 cents. And it was fun heh heh, considering I ended my final round with two aces!!!
But above all it was seeing my whole family happily laugh over the game. All seven of us were so fixated that my grandma and granddad had to come over to peek and help with the cards. My younger uncle took out all his coin assets to share. It was such a cute scene.
Headed to Gabriel's after telling him to egg his family into betting for achap, in time for me to nicely join in. And it must have been beginner's luck but I managed to win about $50, which meant I was in charge of paying for transport that night!
But it was lovely. For such a long time, I was convinced his relatives couldn't accept me and finally, in the warmth of their jokes and sighs that I was on a streak, I felt okay in their company again.
And of course there's Gabriel, so lovingly refusing to let me stay angry with him when I was talking to everyone else but him. So lovingly bringing me food and drinks and nudging me till I kissed him and hugging me for good luck.
I truly have the most understanding man in the world.
