5 Ways To Wear A Blazer In Singapore

There is nothing more delicious than a man in a suit. I watched How I Met Your Mother in the early days of its production and so from the age of 17, I was convinced all men should only wear blazers and nothing else.

It led to me to drop heavy hints on the men I date about this particular wardrobe item that should be in their clothes arsenal. It also led to my discovery of the various reasons why they do not own a blazer.

"The weather in Singapore is insane - you're insane."

"But they are so hard to match."

"I can't wear a blazer with my khakis can I?"

"But it's all black. I hate black."

And so to shut them up and prove once and for all that blazers are nothing more than tough fabric (no more weather excuses) and that anyone can look stunning in one, here's a 5 Singapore instagram men rocking their suits:

1. Mathias

This is the classic blazer and shirt look - a single color outfit from top to bottom then fantastically paired with a slightly shiny blazer of a non-monochrome color. What a nice touch.

2. Hafiz

Here's a man who is impressive with his colors. A blazer with cufflinks that matches his shirt?! And the little splash of pink socks against brown shoes? Am I in love? Yes.

If you need me, I'll be at his profile checking more of him out.

3. Chuanshu

I have never seen a man pair demin jeans with a blazer. It's always dress pants. So here's him proving this combo works! Cuffed jeans the same color as his shirt against the classic blazer - I am doing the emoji with two hearts for eyes right now.

4. Rian

He's only 18 and already a daring fashionista. His outfit looks like things he found laying around his wardrobe and he picked them all up to create the perfect, most colorful ootd. Can't get over the splash of colors heh heh.

5. Wenjie

Nothing is sexier than a fierce man, no? He is actually really inked, but he hides them all in this black get-up, complete with an eye-popping bowtie a la brad pitt. So immaculate I want to swoon.

And for those who don't have a blazer or are still putting off the hunt for one, here's two you could try!

6. Ian

I personally think Ian is one of the hottest men on my instagram. With a penchant for backdrops almost more stunning than himself, he always manages to pull off every single outfit he chooses. Today is no different with a combination of a jacket, a shirt, and a tee perfectly layered. Yum.

7. Raymond

Another of my instagram's hottest, Raymond is a tee-and-cardi lover. There are so many renditions of this combo on his instagram but I like this best. A plain tee over a printed tee complete with a festive hat - so cute!

So see, if Ian (@ianbnjmnolsen) can pull off 3 layers without dying of heatstroke and dying instead of an overload of likes on his instgram photo, then you definitely have no excuse to postpone your blazer hunt.

Start crawling to Zara for your blazer fix today!

Countdown to New Year's with the family!

The first time I've done so in three years I think. This year I vehemently rejected all plans and stayed at home except to collect the tickets and resolved to rather be alone than be in wrong company and I'm glad I did.

A happy new year to you folks!

Had a fantastic day with delta league!

Was my first time being the official photographer of an event and I loved every minute of it - the teasing commentary, the free food, the close up matches, the celebration photos, everything.

Thank you so much ESN Asia for the chance to be your photographer and thank you Delta League players and officials who gave me such a lovely experience to remember all of you by.

The night came and I raged over a series of different things from the upcoming New Year's eve to the failure of my results appeal to my cravings for cakes and sweets entirely unfulfilled and hence my caobin.

Ah well.

Had a great night with the sim folks!

Songyan, kris, junkang and junwei came over too and it was a happy night! Supposedly the trouse brothers came but I didn't see them so ITS A LIE and we just danced and I went home very very sober.

I never really expressed myself to both of them because they seem very tall and terrifying hahah. Tonight I finally accepted my fate and they comforted me and.. sigh. I will miss seeing their stupid faces in class sigh.

How am I going to get through without you two :(

My books came and so did I.

Okay no heh heh. Went for dinner at my grandma's place finally and I bought the book along. My aunt disproved of it hahah and basically spent the night happily watching my grandma chit chat with my mum.

I miss Choa Chu Kang because of my grandma. There is nothing I regret leaving behind (good riddance Sunshine Place and 975) except her and I wish I could bring her over to stay with us but ah she's never going to leave Choa Chu Kang :(

I should stay over some time.

I have no idea how I survived it.

If you haven't tried you, basically you enter the booth in the same pose you see me in here and then there's a countdown from 5 to 1, then a lid under your feet gives way and you fall vertically down.

Just thinking of the drop is making my heart drop right now. It feels like suicide except you get to be alive and permanently scarred hahah what a better latter.

It is very thankful that the drop was short. I wanted to scream the minute the lid snapped open but the water rushed up to greet my nose and mouth and very soon the drop was over and I was coughing out water while laughing manically and scaring Junwei.

I want to do it again heh heh heh.

Steamboat with the folks after!

Couldn't stay long because we booked American Hustle and it was a quick business of me trying desperately to appeal for my results and it mostly ended in the dogs scaring me goodbye.

American Hustle is one of the sexiest shows I've ever seen and half the time I was begging god to let Amy Adam's dress fall apart or for Christian Bale's fake paunch to fall and reveal his American Psycho's physique and then they can have sex and then I can die happy.

But nope it's a story about quirks and works but I love it to death stilll.

Christmas was with the family in a mad scrabble to find matching shirts for the new year hehe.

Also here is all of us stuck in the Lord of the Rings fever and dressed as misinterpreted elves. I really want to be a sexyass archer with a vine braided bow and humping Legolas but this will do this will do.

Went with the old friend to Adventure Cove and it was a goooood day to even out my disgusting tan lines. It is also important to note that it did not work and I still have a tennis player's tan.

Am working on convincing myself its sexy now.

Great prelude to my Christmas eve!

Got to accompany my baby brother to his new secondary school and managed to buy his uniform, shoes and books all in a day! Was excitedly looking for his english textbooks to read. Oh I miss english.

Went home to receiving my Fall Out Boys album from Popspoken (I fucking love it oh thank you guys) and my full Hostess Weekender bundle from Bandwagon (my ears are grateful for the orgasm induced from the albums) and went down to the latter's office.

A brief handshake later, the very friendly man behind the site offered to show me what they're working on and I got a first look at their soon-to-be-revamped site and I went home feeling really inspired.

This man is living my dream of exploring Singapore and bringing us common folks to greater musics and arts as his passion and as his job, while here I am, disappointing my passion with half-assed articles.

Resolution: I shall work harder and write better.

The view from 1-Altitude is a lot more amazing than my photos I swear.

It was liberating to be on top of the tower, 57 storeys above ground, just chilling with my absolut elyx and april/mintao's cigar. Granted I do not like the cigar. And I do not like the alcohol. Okay what was I talking about?

1-Altitude is a beautiful place and I never would've found my way there if not for Cosmo Magazine's highly generous offer to send me and 3 friends up with a bottle of Absolute Elyx to match. Thank you lovely folks for this.

My +3 were April, Mintao and Tengyi. Jaichyi, Songyan and Junkang came along and we had a quick time finishing all the alcohol (they were still starved from Attica) and were rushing down to mink after.

I think this is the night I realized I could finally give up my clubbing days.

Because I told myself: One day, I'll be at 1-Alt with you.

And instead I enjoyed the view by myself.

No more.

Dropped by Kaiqin and Siewia's church celebrations in the day!

Ended up with a goodie bag and the loveliest photo ever. Was happy to see both girls and the play the church put up was pretty impressive. I liked the sad ending. Makes things more authentic and soulful.

Rushed down to Toa Payoh after for the spa party!

I fully did not expect to win anything and was lounging around upstairs in my slippers waiting for my body fat analysis (which is 27%) and one of the staff excitedly said "Nicole is here right! You won something!"

And I quickly answered "did I win a man" and they all laughed and shooed me downstairs where the amazingly tall Yahui presented me the prize while saying "you don't need to lose weight". Awww.

Santa-con in the night after with the TSL team!

Had to rush off midway again for my bottle at 1-alt and my entry at attica so I couldn't stay long. But I do so love this busying feeling. Even typing this post is faster because I am reliving the speed of everything that day hehehe I have serious issues I should get a diagnosis soon.

The later part of the night will be under 22nd's post!

Scattered, scattered thoughts.

I asked grandma how old she was today and she said 67. And that my grandpa was 74. And for very cruelly honest answers, it terrified me. It got me thinking if this world could end with me.

There have been reports that it's the first snow in Egypt in a 100 years. It is a long time to consider if you take into account our lifespan. But when you take the age of the world, it doesn't seem that long around.

A century is nothing to this earth. It has been around for so long. For all that we claim to know, we are tiny and minute in the face of this world. Take the ozone layer. Do you properly know what is it?

Ozone is a colorless gas. Near the Earth's surface, ozone reactions cause rubber to crack, hurt plant life, and damage people’s lung tissues. But ozone also absorbs harmful components of ultraviolet B (UV-B) sunlight, protecting living things below.

Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are what causes this ozone depletion because they go straight for the ozone, leading to holes. But CFC output has since been controlled and because it takes 100 years to decompose, the ozone may slowly heal towards 2050, when the atmosphere is finally rid of this disgusting carbon.

Isn't it amazing?

I won't go about into our creation because that's a meaningless dark abyss that's gonna get talked about to death - but we all agree that we were borne out of a womb.

What we have around us - the trees for our breaths, the offerings for our food, the seas for our water - all these are natural and given to us with no requirement of return.

Yet, we are so outrageously destructive that we take this given and wield it as right. We are so disgustingly abusive that we can take what was nature and mold it to be an act against nature - case in point CFC.

I have digressed too far. I lost my point but in a nutshell - the snow has been interpreted in two ways by two vastly different people. The common folk see it as a miracle and they revel in it. The scientists and weathermen grab their hair and wonder what the fuck is going on.

And I won't take sides because I believe its a lovely surprise at face value but underneath, I understand that this means the weather is becoming volatile. But I truly hope this is not a big cause of concern.

The Earth has been around a long time and I hope it stays around for a lot longer.

I found out today that Zoe has left the childcare with Ethan.

She and Huiyi are my favourite kids in K2 and the honest reason I stay around despite the pay and the distance. Now I have one less reason to stay around.

In hindsight again, I probably am not going to get my job post back and I can't really say I am sad. I do hope my kids remember me but in the words of Candice "THEY CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER THEIR FOOD 5 MINUTES AGO", they probably won't.

Be well kids! Teacher Miko loves you all very very much.

Fucking gorgeous day over at Kent Ridge.

If I'm not mistaken, this is Ancelotti vs Teenage Boyz and that's really two of my favorite teams against each other so I was a very jumpy bystander hahah I must've annoyed my colleague jumping at every goal.

X'mas exchange with huichen, dawn, qiuling and sharon after! Couldn't stay long because I was supposed to head over to The Little Prince cafe but I missed the opening time so MY GIFT IS MY COMFORTER.

X'mas this year feels lonely and in hindsight, I finally figured why.

You're the wrong one all along.

Today I saw my two districts through to semi-finals.

I think I get attached too easily. Like even for the childcare job where its supposed to be freelance and fuss-free, I got so attached I stayed on through bad pay. And now for this, I stay on, letting the rest of my holiday slide me happily by just to see my districts through their victory.

Aye I gotta be more manly.

In this job, I have learnt many things.

I have learnt that nothing can break the spirit of a football match between two serious parties. I have learnt that footballers spit in the face of rain and sun and continue with their game like its the most natural thing in the world.

I learnt that in the face of passion, they are great and terrifying while I am small and afraid.

Will be geninuely sad to see the end of delta league through.
