My first 3s handstand!

As you can tell, I do not put much effort into my post titles.

If there's one thing I believe in, it is in celebrating everything. I am a celebrator. I just got my pay? Let's celebrate! Gabriel finished his day early? Let's celebrate! I woke up skinny? Let's celebrate!

Today, after an Energize class at Strala, I had the chance to celebrate more: my first 3 second long handstand! I was so sure I was gonna collapse but by some way of a miracle, I held my own.

But first my vanity.

















Class started so we headed back in and cease threatening our own lives lol.

I was falling asleep in class. It's not because it's easy, but because me and Gabriel were up all night quarreling and I was severely sleep-deprived. But the sister managed to motivate me out of bed. Attending is half the battle won. I slept through my good fight.

But in between winks, I managed to clock in quite a few good poses. My crow is getting stronger, my wheel is inching slowly better, and when Su pulled me into my handstand, I swear I was semi-floating.



I was trying to do a dolphin headstand.

My sister was so confused lol. I asked for her help in pushing me up and my back was in so much pain, I forgot about my pose and commenced groaning and whining. She managed to snap a quick photo, thank God. Look at my back's arch! I could never do this before.

6 fucking months in and I was still struggling with a handstand. You cannot convince me I can't do something. I'd flip and do it violently to prove it, even if I fail. The only exception in a handstand. I was close to giving up.

But that 3 seconds reaffirmed everything. Now I believe I can do it again. Now, I want to do it again. Handstands are the basics of gymnastics and if I can't get this right, then I can't imagine achieving backflips and everything else.

I can't do a handstand not because I don't have the strength to hold my body up, but because I lack balance and can't control my kick-off. Maybe I should find another way to kick off. I shall try it during work.











So that's the highlight of my work Friday.
