Beyond my other half

You are my better half.

You are my eye in a rage. You know what to say so I don't rip my own fucking eyes out in insanity. You calm me down and say the right things to encourage the outburst and to discourage hasty actions.

You are my pillow in a car wreck. You accept that my job gives me one stroke a month and you are there through it all, cushioning me to the best you can. You support me and tell me I'm invincible, and I believe it.

You are my physiotherapist in a bout of stiffness. You know how to stroke me and have me falling at your feet, you know how to kiss me and have me aching for more. You know all my buttons, and you know the wondrous ways they can be pushed.

And in turn, I am your necessary half.

I am your conviction in a haze of confusion. I know how to ease away all your work worries and job insecurities, holding and holding you till I starve them out to die. I believe, and I believe simply.

I am your raft in a storm. I edge you to where I know you can be, and I help steer your back to the shore you deserve. I know you can, and I don't stop stretching your capabilities till you reach your intended.

But I need you more than you need me.

Because you are the binding fabric in the grand quilt of my future. Because you are the architectural centrepiece among the monuments of my future that I am building. Because you are the king chess piece, along with my family, that I spend all my pawns guarding zealously. Because you are my future, and I belong to you.

And miraculously, you belong to me too.

I'll love you forever.

My boyfriend in a veil!

Friday passed by fruitfully with work finally working out. I tell you this job is gonna give me my first heart attack at 23, I know it. Anyway, it concluded early and I managed to slot in some yoga before closing my Carousell meetups before finally bringing the Boyfriend to the Grandma's for dinner!

I have no photos because I was feeling pretty lazy there and spent it mainly lazing around and tending to my headachey baby. But basically my grandma spent majority of the time frustratedly wondering why her "update pending" Toggle wouldn't load.

Headed home after intending to watch a movie but we knocked out real quick.

Review: Willow Stream Spa All Access

Morning was yoga at my new favorite haunt Ziva Studio!

I didn't get her name, but my instructor today was insanely nice. I was the only one in class for the second session and she tailored it for me. We covered a lot of backbend poses, my favorite being the Half Frog pose because surprisingly, I have the most flexible thighs ever.

Actually I think it's more because my knee can really bend back. You fucking ironic knee. All my life I've been trying to reach forward, so much so it decided to be a little joke and be the perfect backbend instead. MY LIFE IS A SHAM.

Still, it was the best fucking stretch of this week, a close second to my forever life-changing stretch at Samastha Yoga.

Headed over to Fairmont after to try the spa.

I don't understand myself. I truly truly truly DO NOT ENJOY THIS. I do it because the reviews on KFit are so hyped. But I'll often get there and be amazed for a grand total of three minutes before wishing I was being stretched to death again.

Still, for the photos, right?

Oh my god even in grain quality my puncture mark stands out like a beacon.

It is the oddest story. I don't know why but when I was really young, my doctor through it would be a great idea to give me a jab in my buttocks instead of my bicep LIKE A REGULAR PERSON and he must've did it wrong because the dent stayed with me forever.

It is a little thumb of dent that sits squarely in the middle of my left buttcheek and it creates the slightest crease when I wear undies too tight. I think it can collect water if it tried hard enough. Good job doctor I'm a part time well now.

GUESS WHO GOT BORED AFTER THIS.

Don't get me wrong, Willow Spa is gorgeous. They are all gorgeous. But they are also all boring. I had enough after five minutes and wanted to leave when I figured, I might as well see the pool first.

And I was disappointed.

But I got some pretty good contemporary-esque photos so hey, not a waste of my time.

Left after a while and the reception looked mighty surprised to see me out so soon. I think I was in and out within thirty minutes? And that's including my shower time and all.

I think I'm going to discontinue with all my hotel access attempts now. I truly don't like it. I shouldn't force myself to just because everyone else likes to relax. I should do what I like, and what I like is EXQUISITE TORTURE GIMME MORE YOGA.

Headed home to finish up work.

Dance lessons later and I am.. scared.

Give me torturous yoga and give me muscle-murdering HITT but don't give me dance. My self-consciousness falls far below my strength. It conflicts with my incessant need to document everything so I can't even post a video because GOD the self-consciousness is killing me.

It also helps none the better that I sway a lot by nature in this inbuilt-sultriness that got me critiqued by my contemporary teacher so ah man, CAN GROOVE OPEN UP THEIR PUSSYCAT DOLLS COURSE AGAIN ALREADY.

Life of a slutty dancer trynabe.

Review: One Wellness Fitness Club

One Wellness is amazing.

My instructor was a young chap and he was SO PUSHY. I had two sessions back to back as usual and the first one was a shameful Yoga for Weight Loss (I would've taken any other but only this fit into my schedule okay) so that was light.

But the second was Backbends Level 1 and 2 and HOLY FUCK I CAN REACH SO MANY SPOTS! He targeted me a lot because most of the ladies in the front row are seasoned so man, can they reach.

So there were at least six poses where he came to me to personally put his feet on my hip and pressurize it into moving forward while grabbing my hand and pulling me back. I LOVE IT SO MUCH OH MY GOD THIS IS MY TRUE POTENTIAL!!!

I should hire a stretcher.

So I won't end up in a stretcher heheheh okay sorry.

Anyway, I managed to do my first proper wheel via side stretch because he grabbed my back and helped swing my hand into position. I fell a while after he left and quickly Fish Pose'd from the floor into position. But now I can't wheel this way without feeling guilty.

Also a damned good session to end a damned good day at work.

Review: Ziva Yoga

Ziva Yoga is a new studio I'm trying and I love it already!

My session happened to be a 1-to-1 so my instructor paid full attention to me. She was so encouraging my god. I was straining for the most part and she kept saying it's okay, I have a very heightened sense of body awareness, I have the potential to be more, keep patient and keep going.

And so I did. I pushed and pushed and exerted till I had nothing left.

But apparently I did because after that, I still had the energy to run seven blocks in the rain to find myself at my next dance studio, iFit, a physio/ rehabilitation place nestled deep inside Red Hill.

I suppose I did pretty okay for a first time jazz learner but there's more I can improve on. In the mean time, I am just trying to tone down how sexualized all my moves are because pole dance hahaha nothing escapes the touch of pole dance on my life.

Also does my face look like the last photo all the time oh my god.

New things I love about you.

Today is the way you lovingly hugged me from behind as I paid for cookies, sniffing my hair.

Today is the way you reached out your hand to the back as we alighted the bus, without looking back because you knew I'd run to reach you as I always do.

Today is the way you kept looking at me throughout our mookata to make sure I was enjoying myself.

Today is the way you gave me all the meat you were cooking and kissing me in the middle of dinner just because.

Today is the way you turned to look at me as you reached out your hand, watching me quicken my steps to reach you.

Today is the way you opened the cab door for me and my mum, and the delightful grin you wore all the way home when I told you none of my ex-boyfriends ever did that for me.

Today is the way you snuggled my face next to yours as we got off the cab to wait for your parents, like you couldn't wait for us to be alone before indulging in your need for affection.

Today is the way you twisted as you took a photo with your family, and guarding your grandma's portrait on your shoulder and being the life of the party.

Today is the way you patted your lap invitingly, shifting my butt to sit atop of your knees while your parents sat right next to you.

Today is the way you quietly slipped a ring into my finger as your mum prayed for all of us to stay like this for the next thirty years.

Today is the way you guiltily admitted your sneaky attempt when I said you proposed only because you want three rounds of Dota.

Today is the way you catered to all my needs despite having a Dota match.

Today is the way you rushed to me when I ahem'ed loudly after hearing you tell your friend the match was over.

Today is the way you played a Dota video and laid on the bed, spreading your arms and waiting for grumpy me on the chair to go to you.

Today is the way you squeezed me and whispered "I'll do all the work," when I told you I got sleepy and tired waiting for you.

Today is the way you kissed me, hungry and demanding, as if you could never get enough of me.

Today is the way you instinctively opened up your arm when you felt me coming to bed, making sure I laid properly safe beside you before wrapping my shoulder with your hand.

Today is the way you love, as you always do, and yesterday was the way I loved you, as I forever will.

Everyday I find myself surprised by how deeply I can love you, over and over again. You and the powerful ways you show affection, you and the subtleties your love seeps through in. You, you, you.

I'll never leave you.
